Remember 9/11

“Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid.” ~ Ronald Reagan

A horrible tragedy occured at 8:46 Tuesday Morning September 11, 2001. There were 4 planes hijacked by terrorists. A senseless act of cowardness.

American Airlines Flight 11, crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York. There were 92 people aboard, including 9 flight attendants and 2 pilots.

At 9:03 a.m., United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower, carrying 65 people, including 7 flight attendants and 2 pilots.

At 9:38 a.m., American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington, Va. There were 64 people aboard, including 4 flight attendants and 2 pilots.

At 10:10 a.m., United Airlines Flight 93 crashed Southeast of Pittsburgh carrying 45 people, including 5 flight attendants and 2 pilots. It is believed that flight 93 was headed for the White House when some of the passengers rushed the terrorists, causing them to miss their intended target and crash into a field in Pittsburgh. We thank those aboard flight 93 for such a courageous act of selflessness and bravery for saving the many lives that would have been destroyed at the White House.

May God Bless the heroes who have lost their lives in helping save the lives of others.

I just go this in an email!!!Good day all! I hope this note finds you well. I am writing this to let you know about a very important issue that conerns anyone with a pet. I recently became aware of an issue with a product called Bio Spot. This is a flea and tick treatment that is sold over the counter in stores such as Farm and Home, Wal Mart, or other such stores. I have been using this product for about a year (since the summer of 2007). The product is relatively cheap and works pretty well on killing fleas and ticks, which is why I have continued to use it. Recently my dog Yankee (a 6 pound Yorkie) began acting very strangely. He began eating and drinking very little or not at all. He was also acting very lethargic, laying around, itching constantly, and not really acting normal. Finally, the worst symptom was tremors. Yankee began shaking constantly, all over his entire body. This lasted for over 24 straight hours. I consulted the vet, after describing Yankee's symptoms, they immediately asked if I had given him any flea and tick medications besides Frontline or Advantage. Well of course I said yes! They went on to tell me that many over the counter types of flea and tick medications can cause nervous system damage!!! Turns out that Bio Spot is one of those brands. There is a chemical called permethrin that is in many of these products which is made for horses and cows, and is NOT safe for dogs and cats. The chemical can react with a dog or cat's body and cause lethargy, appetite issues, itching, tremors, and sometimes seizures!! Also, if used on cats, it can often be fatal. I have actually done quite a bit of research online since this happened and have come across many stories of dogs who have been injured/affected by permethrin. Plus my vet told me several stories of pets in his very own office who have had the same injuries, and some cats who actually died because of the permethrin. It doesn't always affect every dog it's used on, and doesn't affect every dog the same way everytime. This is what makes it even scarier, you never know when the permethrin will hurt your animal!
